He is a graduate of Human medicine (M.B.Ch. B). He also has a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry. He is a clinical academician with experience in research, teaching and clinical work. Akimana’s research interests include; Non-communicable diseases especially Cancer and mental health. Dr Akimana is also a mental health advocate, creating mental health awareness through video clips on his YouTube channel
